Measures 39 inches in scabbard, sword length 38 inches total, with a blade length of 33 inches. 1st Garde Ulanen Regiment Etched Blade, M1889 Prussian Cavalry Sword by W.K. & C (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.). Has Folding Guard with Prussian Eagle. Blade has lower W.K. & C makers mark. Metal Scabbard black in coloration. Blade is fine, etched on both sides in high detail with blade spine bearing floral etching. The etching on one side displays a Prussian Ulanen Regiment Officers holding Standard in full uniform on horseback, the center Regimental wording "M. Drieir 5. Esr. 1. Garde Ulanen Regt." and and upper bust of a Cavalry Horse. The other side and floral/military armour design. The other side is equally ornate, with badge depicted on lower blade, and highly detailed Prussian Cavalry charge design in center. The upper section depicts sword and saddle below Prussian headgear. Excellent blade.
